The v&a’s exhibition celebrates one of the most iconic, imaginative and inspiring stories of all time. The free event on october 27th will take place in a digital landscape inspired by alice in wonderland’s landscapes and characters. The victoria and albert museum in london will launch its first exhibition in vr dedicated to alice in wonderland. Alexa meade painted an array of art installations inspired by alice's adventures in wonderland for her solo exhibition immersed in wonderland. It charts the history of the story alice in wonderland since it was first published in 1865.

Alice in wonderland will run. One 12 scrapbooking page and a small 18 cm x 14 cm art journal spread. The exhibition moves from the early origins of the alice in wonderland story to the myriad adaptations and interpretations the world has seen in the 150 years since alice’s adventures in wonderland was published.

There are original sketches, original concept art for the animated film by disney, fashion designs from vivienne westwood and so much more. The v&a's got a spot on balance of having a lot of exhibits across a wide range of subjects, mixed with a deeper immersion into alice's surreal worlds through trippy installations. The main character, alice, shared many characteristics with alice liddell, being stubborn, precocious and curious, (although the famous illustration of alice by john tenniel would depart strongly from liddell's brunette bob and short. Spanning art, film, performance, fashion, and photography, the exhibit is nothing if not ambitious.

Curiouser and curiouser will finally make its debut on march 27, 2021 (we hope), and will surely take viewers down a rabbit hole of inspiration and nostalgia. This ‘wonderland’ exhibition is aimed at people of all ages and explores alice’s journey through popular culture. Visitors to the interactive exhibition were invited to climb into the multidimensional artwork and embody the curious spirit of alice on a journey through wonderland. However, this exhibition promises to go above and beyond the acmi's, and will explore alice's enduring popularity, over 150 years after she first debuted.

And then along came covid. While entertaining the three liddell sisters, alice, lorina and edith, during a boating trip, dodgson improvised the story that would become alice's adventures in wonderland. Aren't these characters just amazing.
